...to my old Mt. Carmel friends! How cool is this that we have a blog, thanks Dominic! Well, following Peggy's lead, in the photo I am in the second row, all the way on the end on the right with the yellow pigtails - in front of my old pal ML Garde and my partner (for fire drills, First Communion, and anything else we had to line up for) Patrick Sweeney. I have great memories of everything about Mt. Carmel (or, well almost everything!) and can't wait to see everyone.
I can't believe it's been 25 years since we graduated, how scary is that? Here are some "memories" (some good, some bad) I have of those years, feel free to add to the list if you feel like it. (Thanks to my twin for contributing!)
officer kreegan and the little red schoolhouse
hot dog day
the talent shows
sister rita and the fear of god (literally)
those stylin' uniforms
the st. patrick's day assembly and all of those other assemblies
country fairs (and the maaaahhhhball game)
birthday spankings (social services anyone?)
baseball math
recess and the superballs
the dumpster incident
scoliosis checks
clapping erasers on the building
the 3rd grade detention because no one would admit to "it"
the presidential physical fitness award and hanging on that &*$% bar
kris kringles
bake sales
the 5th grade "films"
mr. eddy and mrs. travillion
mrs. ronai's book reports
ker bangers (not necessarily mt. carmel, we just couldn't have them at school)
field trips to Sleepy Hollow (soooooo memorable)
the school store and the itty bitty erasers
square dancing and scooter races in gym
wacky packages in fifth grade
sixth grade camp
for the girls: bonnie bell lip glosses in the green vest
father what-a-waste (you know who I'm talking about ladies)
striped tube socks, braces, plaid anything, and monogrammed sweaters
Mrs. Petrovsky and spanish classes
dancing to christopher cross at the eighth grade dance
I'll try to post some pictures I found if I can figure out how to do it and anything else funny that I might have saved from OLMC. Looking forward to October 6th!
